A downloadable singleplayer horror for Windows

Overview

"ASSIGNMENT : ENTER & SURVEY THE AREA", the assignment was simple and thus given to a standard scout unit. These sleek humanoid robots were ready equipped with LIDAR arrays to make 3D maps of their surroundings and make decisions on these maps using advanced neural networks. The perfect machine for completing any menial work that A.R.G Corperation required, however this assignment was not given to a standard scout unit rather than a human because of its simplicity but instead the extraordinary risk to life.

In Enter & Survey you control a v4/51 Scout unit assigned with the task of entering and surveying an AI research laboritory owned by Autonomous Research Group with the goal of recovering a package of interest.

It took me around 10 minutes to overcome my fear of approaching the package because I thought it was an immobile monster.

Cool game

Hey, thanks for playing! I am glad you enjoyed it. I may work on making it more obvious that the blue colours are positive to your assignment.

Really really enjoyed the game honestly, especially with how visually striking it is. The balance between being able to see and not being noticed by the monster is also great, though I felt like I didn't have enough tools to distract/hide from it. Regardless, I had a great time <3

Hey, thanks a lot for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Upon a fully realised version of the game being released I plan to add more tools and gameplay mechanics, as for now  you can distract the enemy by performing large scans to attract it to a specific area.

Cheers!

I really like the idea to this, the feeling of opening a door and knowing nothing was nice and the mechanical nature of the opponent with it scanning in red was scary as it lights you up with a red spot.

However it would be in the ceiling sometimes and I am not sure if this is intended but it looks like it goes through objects when it spots you which felt unfair, also when opening and closing doors to escape it you can often get caught on them which can be aggravating.

I am not sure if the view distance is limited for performance or gameplay reasons but it feels off when the opponent can scan you from a huge distance when you cannot see the other scans it has at the source but this also gives a sense of unbalanced-ness

Finally it says LShift to sprint but I never noticed a difference between using it or not.

I hope this does not sound negative or hateful, I really liked the game and dread it makes you feel when you get pinged and would love to see more updates to the QOL aspects :)

Hey,

Thanks for playing! I will look into issues with the enemy being in inaccessible areas and being able to pass through objects, this is likely an issue with the baked NavMesh. I will also modify the doors to stop them moving the player when animating. The view distance is limited for gameplay reasons and also really helps performance although I appreciate your feedback on this, this choice is purposefull.

As for running that is a listing oversight and I will ammend it in the next update.

Thanks again for playing and the wonderful feedback, its really appreciated!

Found this video which is also very good, funny as well.

Such a UNIQUE way to go about a horror game! I absolutely love how you have to use the lights to tell where you are in this dark massive area! It feels very futuristic and machine like! The idea that there is something in here with you is so scary as well. It leaves the player feeling very tense, but in a different way! Great game!

Hey, great video! Thanks alot for checking out the game and I am glad you enjoyed it!
